“As a young girl, I was a dreamer. For hours I could walk and dance in my grandparent’s rose garden.
I remember the first time I saw Cacharel’s Anaïs Anaïs commercial. Model Lonneke Engel was portraid by director Olivier Venturini as the most beautiful girl in the world. She was soft and magical, the way she blew rose petals to the lens, I wanted to be able to do that too. I wanted to be her.
And there lies the power of making commercials. I believe that making commercials is about aspiration. Raising questions like: Who am I? Or who do I want to be? When we see a commercial or a brand film we often wish to see a better, or even the best version of ourselves. A reflection or a feeling that this ideal version is close by. It’s about a dream, that has the potential to become real. It’s about recognition.
I simply love creating amazing dreamworlds where we can find a part of ourselves in it.” – NINA
